Frustrating night!
The Kings started off way cold on offense while playing matador defense on their way to a 15 point deficit. Free throws continue to be an early season problem as well... Somehow with all their issues they managed to make a late run before halftime to cut the lead to 7.
Now for my rant...
We ordered a beer and a water at the start of the 2nd quarter. We didn't get them until 1:49 left before the half, RIDICULOUS! To make matters worse, they ran out of Sierra Nevada at the beer stand so I had to wait in line at a different stand to get the second to last one left before getting back to our seats and missing the first 5 minutes of the 2nd half... C'mon people, it's like they weren't prepared for back to back sell outs...
Anyways, the Kings made several runs in the 2nd half but every time they got within striking distance they couldn't close the deal and they would miss shots or give up easy baskets. Did I already mention all the missed free throws? Oh well...
Next up: The Knicks on Saturday.

Random Thoughts From Box 209 12/26/2011
Opening Night: Kings vs Lakers:
Orange County 8:00 AM
After Kendra and Joanne battle stomach flu, Shane and I head north on I-5 in order to be home in time for tip-off. Thanks to minimal traffic we arrive back in Roseville by 3:00 PM and have time to relax a bit before heading out.
Roseville 5:30 PM
Shane is in a panic searching for his "lucky Fedora"... We look all through the house, he calls his grandma for ideas, and finally I locate it crushed underneath one of Joanne's Pampered Chef baskets, crisis averted...
Power Balance Pavilion 6:15 PM
We arrive ready for the game and settle into our seats with our SWAG Bags containing Blackout T-shirts, Kings Pin, and Glo sticks. Shane is stoked when he finds out we have waitress service and don't have to wait in line for food!
After a video starting with the footage of Grant & Jerry signing off last season in what, at the time, figured to be the last game in Sacramento, Frank Hannon of Tesla sings the National Anthem! Then after the Lakers are introduced, the lights go down and, on Slamson's queue, everyone waves their glo sticks to commence "Blackout"! Awesome way to start the night and get the arena rockin'!
The game was back and forth as the teams settled in with DeMarcus Cousins getting off to a slow start, but Tyreke and Marcus Thornton carried the Kings to a 49-40 halftime lead.
In the 2nd half the Kings built a 15 point lead that started to unravel as time wound down in the 4th. It looked like the momentum was spinning out of control when DeMarcus clamped down on D and Marcus hit a huge 3 to put the nail in a 100-91 Kings win! A great start to the season!
